Big changes & July 2022 update

Hello everyone!

We are working hard on making sure the update comes to you before the end of the month. The update is big - it more than doubles the amount of playable content, and we want to make sure it’s a fun and pleasant experience.

But in the meantime, we, the team, have made an important decision.

We’ve decided that slowly we’ll be moving away from the digitalised look of the game, which is taken straight from the Witcher 3 game engine, and instead use digital art as our sprites. We have a wonderful, professional digital artist on our team, Fae ( @faestorian ) so we’ve decided to take advantage of that.

Using digital art instead of in-game models allows us for more creative freedom, as we will no longer be limited by what is and isn’t available/possible in the realm of the Witcher 3 game.

Moreover, here are some other pros of that decision: - more interesting, beautifully designed OCs; - more comprehensive character creation tool for the PC; - dynamic cutscenes, including romance scenes, where the player’s customised PC would be visible with their love interest; - folklore-based monsters and lore-appropriate clothes, items, monsters.

As for the characters already present and existing in The Witcher 3, we do not intend to alter the way the Witcher 3 have already presented them and will follow their in-game design closely and faithfully.

However, creating an entire game’s worth of sprites, backgrounds and items will take a lot of time on Fae’s part, so we kindly ask you to consider donating to our Ko-fi and/or becoming our Patron if you would like to see the game progress.
